Beautiful cup. Deep dimensional blue color. Piece of art like all the other cups I have from them.

I purchased this beautiful teacup (Yohen) after viewing a short, dynamic video about the process and artistry involved in creating these incredible and unique vessels. I wanted a gift for my 37-year-old son, who is a tea drinker and who has traveled around the world in his profession. His appreciation for craftsmanship and the marriage of beauty and functionality made this the perfect choice (and admittedly, I search far and wide for items that are meaningful). The package arrived in just a few days; it was securely packed and even the box containing the teacup itself was lovely, making me excited to see what was inside! The cup itself is a perfect size. The color is predominantly blue, but there is iridescence which creates new shades and shimmer as one turns it in the light. Gorgeous! As my son has just returned form traveling, I sent the package on to him yesterday and I can't wait to hear from him when he receives it. Thank you, Tenmoku, for the incredible skill and dedication of your craft, the excellent customer service, and the fascinating & gorgeous vessels you present to your clients. I will certainly be a return customer! All the best to every single person involved in Tenmoku!

Gorgeous tea cup and made the perfect gift!

I was blown away by just how beautiful this thing is in person. The customer images are far closer to what it really is in person. The size of 150ml is pretty much perfect. I highly recommend this for anyone. Even someone who doesn't drink tea would like to have one of these sitting on a coffee table. It would be a great conversation piece.
Something to know, is the oils in your hand will change the look of it. But washing it will bring back this insane beauty again. I took this picture with a Pixel 4a, which is a great camera and very accurate to true life. I ordered it and 3 others. And it came in 2 days. Even when 1 of those days was Thanksgiving.
Great company, and great products. I have bought some as gifts, and even when my buddy saw how awesome they were, he ordered himself the Emerald one since he loves green.
I know you may be skeptical that some of the reviews might not be real customers. But I am. Nobody but a real customer would put an photo that shows the dust on their pc fan filter :)

Wow. I'm not sure what to say, honestly. No words can possibly capture the ineffable beauty of this cup... this is a truly metaphysical-grade piece of art. It will transport you to another dimension. As others here have pointed out, this is a replica of the Inaba Tenmoku - arguably the most famous bowl fired in the "Yaobian" or "Yohen" style [meaning 'brilliant [kiln] transmutation'], and one of very few that still exists from the 10th through 12th century - a time when the Jianzhan craft was at its peak. This is the most expensive cup in the Tenmokus catalog, I had very high standards, not only were they met but I was blown away ... a big thank-you to Yuki for all of the help she provided to me, and also provides for all of the other Tenmokus customers. She is awesome!!!

This is the most beautiful teacup I Asheville ever seen

This is my favorite cup, so far. The dots remind me of molecules drifting on a field of cobalt blue. I wish my picture did it better justice. If it goes on sale, I may just buy another one, that's how much I enjoy it.

This cup is magical. It has actually made my life better. 10/10

The Yohen is a beautiful addition to my collection of treasured tenmoku. The colours are dark and intense, and depending on the lighting the bowl glows or just gleams. Taken with a flash, they look intense. The effects are subtle and intriguing at lower light levels.
Admirable work in restoring this amazing ceramic technique- thank you for sharing this beautiful functional art with the world.

Inspiring little bowl, small but monumental. I would like to know how it was produced but for know a fabulous reference to the Tenmoku tradition.

I purchased this for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. As good as it looked on the website, this thing is even more beautiful in person! I was also very pleasantly surprised that it got shipped in an attractive padded box. The shipping was also extremely fast (shipped to Canada). I would DEFINITELY recommend this company and their products to friends/family.

This is a work of art. The shade of blue of this one fits me perfectly. :) Thank you!

A very unique pattern and a very colour, I would recommend this design to anyone looking to buy one of these bowls.

Ten Stars! Five for an amazing product and five for the best customer service. The first Yohen cup I received had a true crack in the glaze, not just a blemish. I reported this along with photos and immediately a replacement was sent. The Yohen cup has such an unbelievable glaze. It is silky and deeply colored highlighted my the molecule-like patterning. Even the feel in one's had is silky. Just Amazing.

This blue is really beautiful, it's like there is a mini galaxy in your tea bowl !

Impeccable quality and Stunning glaze almost the equal of the actual national treasure yohen bowl I had the fortune of seeing in Seikado Bunko Art Museum in Tokyo!

Master crafted tea cup with display box

It's beautiful. I bought 6 different colors and they are all lovely. Colors are slightly different from online photos, but they are lovely nonetheless. As with any handmade item, sizes/colors/glazes will vary slightly, so part of the fun is seeing what comes your way. I am looking forward to my tea!

This cup is simply gorgeous. Honestly, I think they sent me the one they used for photos on the website, because it looks exactly like that, if not better.
Extremely happy with the workmanship of the ceramic and glaze, the packaging is exemplary and the shipping was faster than expected as well.
Not including a photo as my photo skills won't do it justice. Purchasing a couple more different cups!

Lovely bowl. Quick delivery and well packed. Thank you :)

Tenmokus is AWESOME! In the past I have tried three times to order merchandise from China and was disappointed each time. Either the goods never arrived, the wrong goods arrived or the quality was poor. TENMOKUS delivered an amazing and beautiful very HIGH QUALITY product, exactly as promised and with quite quick delivery from HK to Vancouver, Canada! I am very delighted and will tell all my friends!

People are rightly raving about this cup with good reason, and despite my customary avoidance of bandwagon mentalities, I feel I have to rave about it too, simply because it is truly worthy of admiration. Pictures do not do it justice, though I have tried to capture something of it here when viewed in the sunlight. Brilliant haematite and turquoise in the centre give way to rich azure and velvety peacock blues, tinged with iridescent violet and magenta, all spangled with metallic stars and planets that gleam in the sun, all on rich black background. When I opened the box, my mouth literally dropped open and my breath caught in my throat—I have never seen a cup so beautiful. The surface even feels velvety and rich somehow. I will never tire of gazing at it and holding it, contemplating the universe within. I heard of the legendary Yohen glaze decades ago during my study of Japanese tea ceremony, but never in my life did I think that it would be revived in China, and that I would have a chance to hold one in my hand, much less purchase one and drink tea from it. To be sure, this is much smaller than a chawan, and is a proper zhan size, which suits me perfectly, since I make a lot more Chinese tea and gongfucha than matcha. I own a few jianzhan already, but this one makes the beauty of all the others I have ever seen pale in comparison. I will treasure it always.

Absolutely stunning cup, electric blue background with atom-esqe spheres pattern with a slight irradiance. Always a pleasure to have in hand.
William K.
This cup is truly amazing. I initially doubted that the cup would look like the picture, as the glaze of this cup is a replica of the legendary “Yohen Tenmoku” glaze. Only three intact tea bowls are known to exist, and all three are designated National Treasures of Japan. The glaze recipe is thought to be lost. However, this cup somehow managed to mimic the stunning visual effects of the “Inaba Tenmoku” tea bowl, the best of the three Yohen Tenmoku tea bowls. The glaze in reality is black glaze with a “kousai” metallic effect, which is exactly like the three Yohen chawan. Massively impressed with this cup!

High quality and beautiful!!
