My mother loved sunflowers and enjoyed collecting cups, pots, ceramic items. When she died I thought I'd want to downsize and have done a bit of that. However, I began thinking I wanted something of beauty for the house. I looked online and did not especially like what I saw. Many items that seemed too commercial. These "cups" seemed like a very nice, well priced, unusual gift for executive level staff with whom I work so I can say a special "thank you" at Christmas. The photos were well done but I was a little unsure because I was an accomplished potter 45 years ago and I use to make these tea cups in stoneware with temoku glazes that used to get rave reviews. I knew I'd "pick them apart" once I saw and handled them. But, the guarantee reassured me that it was a legit offer so I ordered this piece. It arrived 2 days earlier than announced! The presentation box is really nice! In my hands it was poetry. I love the glaze (which was faithful to the photo). I loved the finish work of the clay! I loved the feel, loved the craftsmanship, loved the overall high quality! I am a raving fan!!! I bought three cups and all of them are of this quality. Now I want all of them!

For an expensive gift, I was disappointed that there was no "romance" card with the cups that explained what it was and why it was special.
