Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Spiral teacup actually handcrafted?
Yes, this teacup is handcrafted using traditional Jianzhan techniques. Each piece is shaped by hand from iron-rich clay, not mass-produced in molds.
What creates the hypnotic spiral pattern with blue and gold tones?
The hypnotic spiral pattern comes from natural oil-spot and crystal formations that emerge during high-temperature firing. The deep blue and gold tones result from iron oxide crystallization in the glaze, making every cup one-of-a-kind.
Can I use this cup for matcha or coffee, or only tea?
You can use this teacup for tea, matcha, coffee, sake, and even espresso. Its wide shape and heat retention make it versatile for any hot or cold beverage.
Is the glaze food-safe and durable for daily use?
Yes, the glaze is food-safe, lead-free, and high-fired to over 1300°C for durability. It retains heat well and resists chipping with proper care.
How should I care for this Jianzhan cup to preserve the glaze?
Hand wash only with mild soap and a soft sponge, then air dry completely. Over time, you can season the cup by steeping tea in it to enhance the glaze's luster.
Does this cup come with careful packaging for shipping?
Yes, we ship this fragile teacup in protective packaging with cushioning and a sturdy box. It is carefully wrapped to prevent damage during transit.

Beautiful little tea cup. Enjoy the unique spiral pattern. Makes the tea experience a bit more special!
Spiral is my second purchase, and I am as delighted as I was with my first. The teacups are beautiful. They arrived within a short period, in perfect condition, and handsomely gift boxed. They add quality to tea time, and can be used to serve other delights as well. You definitely have in me a repeat customer.
Even it seems small, it's the perfect size or "always hot tea". Excellent feeling in my hands. my favourite cup from first day of ownership.
Beautiful shallow style cup an amazing silver blue wave pattern radiating around the cup inside and outside. Amazing quality and always pleased by the Tenmokus cups.

Beautiful and made solidly. Love it!
I bought two cups for my daughter and grandson so they could enjoy their tea in style! They are absolutely beautiful, wrapped well and came quickly. Very pleased with this purchase and probably will buy two more for me and my husband. Have you noticed how much better your beverage tastes when you have a beautiful cup or glass? They’re going to love them when they open them on Christmas morning!

Beautiful piece and lovely packaging.
Pricey shipping but beautiful packing for lovely cup received as gift. Only wish it were bigger to be able to drink tea from.
Love my little spiral cup - it’s beautiful.
Amazing! Quick delivery.
I really love the design. The tea cup is beautiful.
I love the two cups I purchased. I bought them as a present for my sister, but now I want some for myself!
So pretty! And impressively quick shipping
Thank you very much for your questions. In the Most Exquisite Bundle I do not like the red bowl very much. In my opinion it is very much out of place with the other bowls whom I like very, very much. Futher more, The bowls are a piece of art, I like the enamels and the patterns you have achieved very much. With kind regards, Ann.
This is a gift for my Japanese mother in law.
I wish I could afford more of them.
This teacup isn’t an instant favorite like some of the others, but it feels very good in your hand and is intriguing to look at.
Beautiful presentation; ideal for a gift!
The bowl is much smaller than I expected it to be but it is absolutely gorgeous. Instead of using it to drink tea I will use it to keep my jewelry when not worn. The workmanship is lovely.
