兔毛釉是建窑最典型、规模最大的产品,以至于人们常用“兔毛建盏”作为建盏的代名词。

兔毫建盏的结晶纹饰,是由均匀细密的黑色丝状纹路贯穿黑釉层而成,形似兔毛,故名兔毫。

宋代饮茶诗词中,多有对兔毛建盏的赞美和歌颂。宋代许多茶书亦将建窑兔毛建盏视为最尊贵的茶盏。《茶器图赞》更直接将兔毛建盏列为十二种茶具之一,足见其标志性地位。

野兔的毛纹形态各异,有长有短,有粗有细,有曲有直,颜色有金色、银色、棕色等多种色调,分布有疏有密,覆盖范围不一。

兔毛建盏的产量虽然高于油滴釉和天目釉,但兔毛纹的结晶形态、颜色、净度、分布等差异很大,要制作出一件好的兔毛纹需要花费不少功夫。

建盏大师叶立忠堪称兔毛建盏的代表人物,叶大师耗时五十余年,潜心钻研兔毛建盏,真可谓“上品如玉,细丝如丝”。

用“油滴”来形容建盏纹饰,起源于日本,最早的记载可追溯到日本应永年间(1394-1427)的《禅林国华》。

其他日本古籍如《万岁旬中权日记》、《印粮馆日录》等也有此记载。

在中国古代文献中,还没有发现用“油滴”一词来形容建盏的记载,因此,“油滴”是一个毫无争议的外来词汇。

如今,“油滴建站”已经成为建站市场和学术界的常用术语,是一个约定俗成的专有名词,已经流传了很多年。

使用“油滴”一词来区分“野兔毛”确实直观且方便,因为晶体图案像沸腾的油滴一样分布,类似于散落的点。

油滴建盏的烧成条件较兔毛建盏更为苛刻,窑温过低则难以形成点状纹饰,过高则点状纹饰易流淌成线。

宋代油滴建盏现存和出土数量极少,完好的更为罕见。
