"Recently, many beginners who have started to play with Tenmoku are familiar with the Partridge Feather Spot Tenmoku. However, often many people only know the superficial characteristics without understanding the true origins. Today, the author has summarized three key characteristics of the Partridge Feather Spot Tenmoku, hoping to help some Tenmoku enthusiasts!"

  • Regarding the Partridge Feather Spot Tenmoku, its appearance pattern is similar to the feathers of partridge birds in the Fujian area, hence the name. This is the easiest point to recognize, and beginners can easily grasp and identify it.
  • Many people confuse the Partridge Feather Spot Tenmoku with the Oil Spot Tenmoku and cannot distinguish the difference between them. In fact, it is easy to identify them if you know this point: the Partridge Feather Spot Tenmoku mainly has white or yellow spots with a certain arrangement rule, while the Oil Spot Tenmoku has spots similar to oil or water droplets, with a certain three-dimensional sense and larger, more scattered spots.

  • The last point is a bit more specialized and can be distinguished by experts. The firing process of the Partridge Feather Spot Tenmoku is more complex and cumbersome than that of the Oil Spot Tenmoku. To achieve a similar effect to the Partridge Feather Spot, the materials and firing process of the clay must be carefully selected. The firing process of the Oil Spot Tenmoku is relatively easier than that of the Partridge Feather Spot Tenmoku.
