Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Vivid Lotus tea cup actually handcrafted?
Yes, this cup is handcrafted using traditional Jianzhan techniques passed down through generations. Each piece is shaped by hand and fired at high temperatures, ensuring no two cups are exactly alike.
What makes the vivid lotus glaze pattern so unique?
The glaze features vivid lotus flower patterns created through natural oil-spot and crystal formations that emerge from iron-rich clay during firing. This process produces one-of-a-kind designs with a sense of spiritual serenity and color that cannot be replicated.
Can I use this cup for drinks other than tea?
Absolutely, this cup is versatile and suitable for tea, matcha, coffee, sake, and even espresso. Its high-fired construction retains heat well, enhancing the experience of any hot beverage.
Is the Vivid Lotus cup food-safe and durable for daily use?
Yes, it is completely food-safe and lead-free, as it is fired at extremely high temperatures that vitrify the clay. The durable construction also helps retain heat, making it ideal for regular use with hot drinks.
How should I care for this Jianzhan tea cup to maintain its beauty?
Hand wash the cup with mild soap and a soft sponge, and avoid abrasive scrubbers that could damage the glaze. Season it over time by steeping tea in it, which enhances the oil-spot patterns, and always air dry completely before storing.
Does this cup come with secure packaging for shipping?
Yes, the Vivid Lotus cup is packed with careful, fragile-safe materials including bubble wrap and a sturdy box to prevent damage during transit. We ensure it arrives in perfect condition for you or your gift recipient.
