Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Blush Jianzhan tea cup actually handcrafted, or is it machine-made?
Yes, this cup is entirely handcrafted using traditional Jianzhan techniques passed down through generations. Each piece is shaped on a potter's wheel and fired at high temperatures, so no two cups are exactly alike.
What makes the soft pink and rose glaze on this cup so unique compared to other tea cups?
The blush tones come from natural iron-rich clay that forms microscopic oil-spot and crystal patterns during the firing process. These delicate blush effects are completely organic and one-of-a-kind, making every cup a unique work of art.
Can I use this cup for drinking matcha, coffee, or even sake, or is it only for tea?
This versatile cup is perfect for tea, matcha, coffee, sake, and even espresso. Its wide mouth and smooth glaze make it suitable for any hot or cold beverage you enjoy.
Is this cup food-safe and safe for daily use, and will it hold heat well?
Absolutely, the cup is high-fired at over 1300 degrees Celsius, making it lead-free, food-safe, and extremely durable. The thick ceramic walls retain heat exceptionally well, keeping your drink warm longer.
How should I care for this Jianzhan cup to keep the blush glaze looking beautiful?
Hand wash with mild soap and a soft sponge, and avoid abrasive scrubbers or dishwashers. Over time, you can season the cup by steeping tea in it, which enhances the glaze's depth, and always let it air dry completely before storing.
Does this cup come with protective packaging for shipping, since it's fragile?
Yes, we ship each cup in a sturdy box with multiple layers of bubble wrap and foam inserts to prevent movement during transit. The packaging is specifically designed to protect delicate handmade ceramics from damage.

Gift-Ready Teaware
Tenmokus pieces can work as gifts for tea drinkers, ceramic collectors, housewarming occasions, birthdays, holidays, and personal tea rituals. When choosing a gift, compare the recipient's preferred drink, hand feel, cup size, glaze style, and whether the piece should be practical for daily use or more display-focused.
