I got 2 other cups as wedding gifts and 2 cups for myself (this and "the Golden Flower"). This cup also really speaks to me. I almost never buy art on-line, and I have never before bought art internationally on-line. But there were so many attractive items on the Tenmokus website that I decided to risk it. And I'm glad.
The "Deep Ocean" cup I ordered arrived only a few days after I placed my order, and I'm quite pleased; it was well packaged in a very attractive presentation box, which I'm saving, and accompanied by a highly informative leaflet on how the cups are produced. The cup fits very comfortably in my palm, and as the photo shows I have it placed on my desk such that I can see both the exterior and the interior simultaneously as I pass by.
My only regret is that I did not take the opportunity to order a second cup at the same time.

The Deep Ocean teacup is beautiful, truly a work of art. This is my fourth teacup and not only are they unique but they feel good in my hands. I feel special when I'm using it and I think they would make wonderful gifts. My only negative is I wish I could have had one with more blue in it since it is deep ocean, as mine was mostly silver. Purchased four of the Deep Ocean teacups. The glaze of the cups I received is much darker and not the vivid blue in the marketing photo online which drew me to them -- I clearly did not read the reviews other buyers had posted showing the variation in hue that would have tempered my expectations. The glaze is still extraordinary, the cups have a wonderful shape and feel in my palm, and it is clear that the Tenmokus staff took care to pick four cups that match well so I quickly grew to love them! You will not be disappointed, just realize that the color of the Deep Ocean glaze may vary as shown in customer photos.

It is quite a beautiful tea cup, and has excellent craftsmanship, however even when I bought it I knew it was only 5oz, so for me it’s not exactly an “every day cup,” yet it is the perfect size to use with my teapot and tea set, which makes it more for special/ceremonial use than something to warm my hands in winter. I picked the deep ocean design because it was my favorite. Something I have also noticed is that the glaze changes color upon temperature changes, which makes having a cup of tea with this vessel not a static experience, but an aesthetic one as well, would recommend, though I wish they’d expand their selection with a larger 10oz cup design with some of this glaze work.
