Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Oni Tea Set handcrafted by a single artisan?
Yes, each piece in the Oni Tea Set is handcrafted using traditional Jianzhan techniques passed down through generations. The teapot and cups are shaped by hand and fired at high temperatures, so no two sets are exactly alike.
What makes the dark crimson and black glaze with demon mask motifs so unique?
The glaze achieves its demon mask motifs through a natural reaction between iron-rich clay and precise kiln conditions, forming oil-spot and crystal patterns. These one-of-a-kind markings shift in color under different lighting, giving each set a dramatic and individual character.
How many pieces are included in the Oni Tea Set for gongfu tea ceremonies?
This set typically includes a teapot and matching tea cups, designed specifically for gongfu-style brewing. The exact piece count is confirmed on the product page, but it always features enough cups for a small ceremony.
Is the Oni Tea Set safe for drinking tea and food contact?
Yes, the set is high-fired at over 1300 degrees Celsius, making it non-porous and fully food-safe. It contains no lead or harmful chemicals, so it is safe for daily tea use.
How should I care for this Jianzhan tea set to preserve the glaze?
Hand wash each piece with mild soap and a soft sponge, then season the teaware by steeping tea in it to enhance the glaze's luster. Always air dry completely before storing to prevent moisture damage.
Does this Oni Tea Set come with special packaging for gifting?
Yes, it is shipped in careful, protective packaging with padding to secure the fragile teapot and cups during transit. This makes it an excellent gift for tea lovers, collectors, or anyone who appreciates zen aesthetics.

Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.9 / 5 from 17 reviews.
This is a beautiful set! The finish design is very unusual, & you really enjoy the smooth, yet uneven surface. I'd love to also have a full Oni teapot!
Arrived very quickly and is absolutely beautiful 😍
This set looked even more amazing in person! The set shipped very fast and arrived safely at my house. But the real highlight here is the amazing way this tea set enhances the flavor of loose leaf tea. It's unlike anything I have ever tasted before! This is now the only way I will drink tea! I loved the experience of the set so much I just went and bought a big tea pot from this site for more tea in one brew! Trust me if you are on the fence about this, it is absolutely worth it. The price is so much more than worth it once you see it in person and then taste it in person. I bought the beautiful oni set, which also came in a beautiful wooden box. Thank you so much guys!
I read reviews about how quickly the packages came. They weren't kidding! I had two orders and they both came within a couple of days! I LOVE the Oni tea set! I can only attach one picture, so I want to assure you if you are considering on buying anything from Tenmokus; everything is VERY well packed. Wind or rain your order should come unscathed.
I ordered the tea set for my son who is an avid teacher lover. I received the set and it's more gorgeous than the photos. The quality is excellent, I couldn't be happier. Thank you for helping me gift my son such a gorgeous set.
Very pretty
This was a present for my wife. She loves them. She immediately wanted to learn more about the set and the company. I see more cups, at the least, in her future. Thanks
The entire set was beautifully crafted and looked exactly like the pictures from the site. My tea already tastes better just by using them.
Immediate shipping and excellent packaging. Product was well made and exactly as described.
My husband even loved this tea set and he doesn't drink tea. He could not believe how gorgeous this set was. Wonderfully made!
Shipped SUPER fast. Got in just a few days (Hong Kong to Florida). All arrived intact. As nice in person as in pictures. Wish things were a little larger, but that is the traditional size I assume. Beautiful set for display or use.
It is very beautiful! I hope my daughter in law likes it as much as I do!
Everything looks as was posted on the website, delivery was timely, and I was kept informed. It is a gift.
Love the color I wish that the cups were bigger but I know traditional tea cups are small
I really like the set I bought. It arrived much faster than expected and came in a fun, well wrapped, box. I do wish the gaiwan was a little larger but that doesn't bother me much. Such a good purchase.
Absolutely beautiful tea set I love it. Very quick delivery
The set is still in it's box at the moment, but will soon be on display. It is awesome and I'm so glad I bought it.
